And by Gallagher-ready, I mean contains watermelon, not that it's full of gay-bashing vegetables.
Discarded produce included a couple of mint leaves and the entire bag of tomatoes from last week, the unfortunate victim of the maxim "don't put your tomatoes in the refrigerator". Which is only true up to a point.
This week!
- A large bunch of collard greens
- A small bunch of cilantro
- One giant honking Japanese eggplant - luckily I finished off the ones I bought at the farmer's market last week.
- A nice big bag of edamame, which I think I'll be cooking traditionally. Mmm. Edamame.
- A zucchini, which means I really should do something with last week's.
- A bag of tomatoes, which is going in the damn fridge.
- A big pint of cherry tomatoes
- A bunch of arugula on the stalks
- Tomatillos! And not just a couple of them. Seven of them, ranging from one to about three, three and a half inches in diameter. I love tomatillos, so this is exciting.
- Two stalks of broccoli, which is fine, since Cathy's home
- One reasonably-sized cucumber
- One ear of corn - guess that's getting cut off the cob.
- One small watermelon, like toddler's head size.
- A head of garlic, a couple of onions, three jalapenos, and two small sweet peppers
- A couple of pounds of red potatoes
I still have a fairly substantial backlog from last week, but I'm hoping, especially since the heat wave is finally going to fucking break this weekend, to really work on what to do with what's left.
