Fickle Fork of Fate

This Week In Fail

One of the things about food-blogging is that you tend to focus almost exclusively on the experiments, the successes, the really nice and/or new meals. But that runs the risk of painting a... somewhat biased picture of one's food life. So, in the interests of humility, here's a brief picture of what a week of dinners look like amidst a combination of work hell and mild viral infestation.

MONDAY: Take-out! Specifically, Whole Foods for soup and sandwich.

TUESDAY: Take-out! Yum for burger and fries (and pastrami and matzoh soup for Cathy)

WEDNESDAY: Panicked attempt to use the last of my spinach, mushrooms, and red bell pepper before it went bad - a melange of those vegetables plus Italian sausage. Melange thus becoms the fanciest word it is possible to use to describe my eating all week, and even that borders on a lie.

THURSDAY: Leftover Easter lasagna from the Lambert ancestral homestead.

FRIDAY: Take-out! Whole Foods again for sushi and pierogies.

Today, by the way, will be takeout, but it'll be theme takeout. Tomorrow and Monday I actually have to cook, which means actually having to shop, because the sum total of produce in the apartment at this moment is one very old avocado, half a dozen mushrooms, and the last of a bag of celery. MUST RECTIFY.
